AT THE MOVIES-

📽 Venom:The Last Dance is an entertaining, yet chaotic, farewell to the symbiote. The franchise’s third installment has just hit cinemas to the delight of Marvel fans, but you don’t have to already be a fan of Eddie (Tom Hardy) and his alien sidekick’s chaotic antics to get a kick out of the film. It’s got plenty of action and enough humorous moments to keep you entertained, but similar to the last two movies, it can’t quite stick the landing.

Picking up right where Spider-Man: No Way Home left off, Eddie Brock and Venom find themselves back in their universe, and naturally, trouble follows. Now they’re on the run from the government, dealing with a secret military team and scientists who want to dissect Venom’s symbiote. To top it off, Knull, the god-like creator of the symbiotes, sends a xenophage to hunt down Venom — because he holds the key to release him from the prison the symbiotes put him in. It’s basically a fight for survival.

Let’s be real, the best part of this movie is Eddie and Venom’s ‘buddy’ dynamic, but the action scenes go big too. The new villain, Knull, doesn't really go anywhere, an unnecessary inclusion of an alien-crazed family serves no purpose — the narrative has a lot of build-up that doesn't deliver. The storyline also lacked depth and it seemed rushed to get rid of the character.
