🥙 EAT THIS TONIGHT-

Want local comfort food? Kairo 365 is the new hotspot for it. This restaurant ’s one-page menu keeps it simple — it’s either kofta, hawawshi, shish tawook or soujouk, and you can choose between an assortment box of four, eight or ten juicy sandwiches.

Everything is charcoal grilled on the spot. They also prepare their homemade sandwich bread on site — and the best part — similar to a pita bread. It’s big enough for one skewer of the meat so you’re not eating excessive amounts of starch and have room for other sandwiches.

The order: The kofta sandwich comes with three pieces of mini koftas covered in tahini sauce and topped with shredded onions. The meat was tender and the flavor and scent of the charcoal was just right. We do suggest adding the sauce of your liking to the hawawshi to give it an extra something something — we chose the buffalo tahini and would recommend the same.

It’s hard to improve on perfection, especially when it comes to shish tawook. But the tender pieces of marinated and perfectly charred chicken needed a helping of homemade chips to give it that extra crunch that took it from staple to phenomenal. We would suggest doing the same with the tangy soujouk.

Looking for something new? Try their Mombarizo: Mombar has now taken a new shape. The mombar pops — little bites of mombar — are drenched in rizo sauce and filled with rizo rice.

Pro tip: Go for one of their box options to get a taste of everything. Patrons have advised to pair their food with their hibiscus soda drink as a refreshment between sandwiches, but one bottle will not be enough.

WHERE TO FIND IT- Their first and only branch is in Dokki — a journey for most — but they do deliver to Dokki, Mohandessin, Zamalek, Agouza, Cairo University, and Giza either through their hotline, Talabat or online ordering portal.
