The show, Capote vs The Swans, is all about infiltrating high society and betrayal when Truman Capote, author of In Cold Blood, befriends New York society’s most elite women, to the point where secrets they would’ve taken to the grave are spilled, but little do they know that he’s writing all about for his next work of “fiction.”

Based on Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer, the show has all the makings of a true masterpiece of historical fiction. Leamer captured the glamorous lives of the women involved in a way that would make you suspect he had been there with them. That same juicy intel is translated to the show where Capote’s downfall is manifested for all to see.

How far will people go for their status and reputation? Probably further than you think, as the eight-part series shows us. There’s also a star-studded cast featuring Naomi Watts, Demi Moore, Diane Lane, Tom Hollander, and Chloë Sevigny — each delivering stellar performances.
