Everyone has their own relationship with spirituality, with some leaning into it more than others. Ghost Church is a podcast by comedian and podcaster Jamie Loftus that explores these relationships throughout American history. How did it all start as a prank by two teen sisters in the mid 1800s, how did mediums conversing with the deceased come to be? What is the role of religion within these groups and those drawn to them? How does grief drive these endeavors and extend to tarot cards and seances?

In the nine-part series, Loftus takes on the task herself and explores different ways people try to connect with the spirit world. In one episode she researches table tipping, which is a form of seance allowing spirits to communicate, by attending a class on it and experiencing the phenomenon for herself.
