Cuphead: The retro video game you’ve never heard of — and that you’ll love to hate: Since its release in 2017, it has been breaking both records and the sanity of its players. The acclaimed game, released by Studio MDHR, follows brothers Cuphead and Mugman after they make a bargain with the devil when they lose to him at his casino. They are given a choice: Cuphead becomes a bagman for the Prince of Darkness, chasing down the souls of runaways in hock to You Know Who — or he loses his own soul.

Get ready for a pretty unique graphic experience: Cuphead takes inspiration from both shoot-em-up arcade games and 1930s cartoons. The unlikely combination of the two themes makes for delicious gameplay. The original game score is recorded by a live jazz band and each track matches the graphics with a bouncy, jovial beat.

Don’t be deceived by the soft visuals: The game is challenging, sitting at number six on Dexerto’srankings of the hardest video games. With 40 bosses in total, each level brings a new burn to players. Every boss has its own patterns, strengths, combat choice, and habits. To beat them, players need to analyze each boss in isolation and then perfect a unique technique for each challenge.

WHERE TO GET IT- You can find the game on Xbox, PlayStation 5 or 4 stores; or Steam. Want a physical disc? Hit up Amazon US— it’s unfortunately not available on Amazon Egypt as of yet.
