Edita Food Industries has started operations at its new EGP 135 mn productionline, which is set to increase Edita’s production of baked goods by 20% (11 mn tons) a year, the company said in an EGX disclosure (pdf) yesterday. This marks the company’s eighth production line for its baked goods segment and comes amid rising demand for its Molto range. The company had pledged some EGP 400 mn this year in investments for production expansion in Egypt and Morocco.

CORRECTION- This story was corrected on 15 August, 2022 to reflect the following changes: Edita's new production line is increasing its baked goods production by 11 mn tons per year. This is not the new total capacity. The company's EGP 400 mn investment is also going towards overall production expansion in Egypt and Morocco, not specifically for its wafer segment.
