Fuel prices in Lebanon are set to skyrocket after the government decided to cut back on subsidies as it looks to solve a worsening gas shortage and protect its dwindling foreign reserves amid an ongoing economic and financial crisis, the Associated Press reports.

Israel will ease trade and fishing restrictions in the Gaza strip, it announced Thursday, following a tightening of the bans since the 11-days of violence against Palestine in May, Reuters reports. Israel allowed on Monday a limited resumption of commercial exports from Gaza, after expanding the fishing zone in the strip and approving the import of raw materials for essential civilian factories on Friday.
