A handful of things we’re keeping an eye on this morning:
- Egypt has taken 20 NGOs off its travel ban list after a court acquitted them inDecember of receiving illicit foreign funding.
- Farmers in 12 governorates now have electronic smart cards designed to digitize data collection on cultivated land and agricultural production, as well as the disbursal of subsidies.
- Banque du Caire’s Cairo Leasing Corporation is lending Electro Cable Egypt up to EGP 800 mn to finance the first phase of Electro Cable’s new electrical cables factory in Sadat City.
- Egypt has received 10 General Electric-built locomotives that make up the last batch of 110 rail engines purchased in a 2017 agreement.
