The Egyptian Auto Feeders Association (EAFA) is looking to partner with Indian and Chinese auto manufacturers to begin assembling small, low-cost vehicles in Egypt, EAFA head Aly Tawfik said, according to Al Mal. The partnership would see EAFA members supplying the components for the vehicles, Tawfik said, without saying how much of the components they would be providing. The project is designed to provide lower-cost options to the domestic auto market, particularly as potential alternatives to tuk-tuks, which the government isworking to phase out.
