The 50th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, which opened last week, has come a long way — but its new home at the gleaming Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo seems to have disgruntled some, Reuters reports. Booksellers who for years have set up shop at the fair’s former home in Nasr City say they are being sidelined by “stringent” participation conditions, leading them to launch their own month-long book fair in downtown Azbakeya.
