Egypt has made it to the list of the world’s 10 worst countries for workers’ rights on the left-leaning International Trade Union Confederation’s Global Rights Index for 2018, alongside Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Guatemala, and Colombia. Egypt received a score of 5, meaning that it offers no guarantee of rights, according to the index, which considers factors such as the ability to strike peacefully.
