Red Sea resort bookings were not affected by recent killings in Hurghada, Egyptian Travel Agencies Association VP Moudy Al Shaer tells Al Masry Al Youm. There were no significant cancellations either, he adds, noting that Hurghada’s occupancy rate currently stands at a 75% average. Separately, German tour operator FTI announced that the Hurghada attack will not be affecting its plans to increase traffic to Egypt, according to Al Borsa. The company will be sending 102 weekly flights to Hurghada starting November, and will launch 24 additional flights to Marsa Alam, 10 to Sharm El Sheikh, and 6 to Luxor. Belarus’ Vitebsk airport will also be running a charter flight program to Hurghada between 21 September and 9 January, the Belarus Telegraph Agency reports.
