Dana Gas makes 10 bcf gas find in Egypt
Dana Gas struck more gas in Egypt: UAE-based natural gas firm Dana Gas said its latest Nile Delta well in Egypt uncovered an estimated 10 bcf of gas reserves — more than triple the original forecast of 3 bcf — opening the door to a further 12 bcf of potential resources across the concession area, according to a press release (pdf). The discovery adds fresh momentum to Dana’s USD 100 mn Egypt investment program, with four more wells scheduled to be drilled before the end of 2026.
The company said the Egyptian government has now cleared all outstanding receivables and continues to make payments in full and on time, most recently transferring AED 79 mn.
BACKGROUND- Dana had announced another Nile Delta gas discovery late last year after drilling the North El-Basant 1 exploratory well, where initial estimates pointed to 15-25 bcf of recoverable reserves and production of more than 8 mmcf / d once connected to Egypt’s grid.
Edge adds a government channel to its French push
Edge Europe signed a cooperation framework with France’s armaments directorate DGA as it opens its Paris headquarters, giving the UAE defense group a route into French procurement and industrial partnerships, it said in a press release. The agreement sets the basis for Edge products and technologies to enter the market under local regulatory and procurement standards, with CEO Hamad Al Marar saying DGA’s role gives it “real industrial substance from the outset.”
Why it matters: The framework adds a government-level channel to Edge’s widening European footprint. The group also has plans for an engineering and manufacturing facility in Bordeaux and has recently lined up partnerships with Hungary’s 4iG on non-lethal systems, Leonardo on sensors and aircraft systems, Spain’s EM&E on remote weapons, and Safran on UAV weapons and munitions.
