Hindustan Platinum taps Gulf, European refiners for spent catalyst imports

Mumbai-based precious metal refiner Hindustan Platinum Ltd. is exploring imports of spent catalysts — used refinery materials rich in platinum-group metals — from oil refiners in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia to secure long-term supplies vital for Indian industries, ETV Bharat reports. The company already sources from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and the UAE, and is planning talks with refiners in Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Poland next month. It is also expanding capacities and venturing into solar and renewable energy amid surging domestic demand for precious metals.
