SAL goes Dutch: SAL Saudi Logistics Services has established SAL International Ground Handling B.V. in Amsterdam as a wholly owned subsidiary for its international expansion,, according to Tadawul disclosure.
The outbound footprint is taking shape fast: In March, SAL signed a SAR 123 mn agreement to acquire 100% of Aviapartner Liège, giving it a foothold at Belgium’s Liège Airport. The Saudi firm also entered China last year through a strategic partnership with TAM Group to strengthen air cargo flows between the two countries.
The inbound side is just as active: SAL inked a renewable agreement with Uzbekistan's Fly Khiva Group to provide cargo ground handling, aircraft loading and offloading, and ramp operations in the Kingdom — adding to existing agreements with Uzbekistan Airways, Azerbaijan Airlines, and Silk Way Airlines.
The home hub has to keep up: Contracting and Construction Enterprises landed a SAR 233 mn contract for phase two of SAL's Jeddah cargo expansion at King Abdulaziz Airport, due for completion in 3Q 2026. The international push generates inbound volume; the Jeddah expansion is how SAL absorbs it.
