The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) yesterday inaugurated a new SAR 150 mn logistics park at Jeddah Islamic Port in Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with LogiPoint, a subsidiary of Saudi Industrial Services Company (SISCO), Mawani said in a statement. The 72k sqm development comes as part of Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), which aims to transform the kingdom into a global logistics and maritime hub.
The details: The logistics park will offer end-to-end logistics services for a wide range of cargo, including dry bulk cargo, frozen cargo medicine and perishable goods. It will also offer solutions and infrastructure to assist e-commerce companies with their fulfillment operations.
Jeddah Islamic Port has been getting a lot of attention lately: The port, which is the busiest in the kingdom, secured investments totaling over SAR 9 bn from both local and international major players in 2022 in a bid to become one of the top 10 global maritime hubs, according to the statement. It has also been added to at least five shipping lines linking it to ports across the world over the past few months.
