Mawani to establish integrated bunkering center in Yanbu: Saudi Ports Authority(Mawani) has inked an agreement with Alba Nova and Trafalgar Oil to establish a SAR 2 bn integrated center for bunkering in Saudi’s King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu, in partnership with the Saudi Energy Ministry, according to a statement. The statement did not disclose the timeline for the completion of the center or the kickoff of operations.

The details: The 393k sqm center will serve as a location for storing, trading, and mixing petroleum products. The center will be situated in King Fahad Industrial Port, which has 34 berths, 10 terminals, and the ability to hold a capacity of over 210 mn tons and receive vessels carrying up to 500k tons, according to the release.

The center will be established over two phases:Each phase of the project will have 144 tanks with the capacity to hold up to 8.6k cubic tons per tank, totalling 1.2 mn cubic tons in capacity upon completion, according to the statement. The tanks will be able to hold diesel, gas, heavy fuel, and other petroleum materials, the statement said.

This is all part of Saudi Arabia’s plans to boost its logistics infrastructure: The kingdom is planning to supply 10 mn tons of fuel to vessels transiting through and arriving to its ports, as well as increase the number of logistic zones across the kingdom by 2030, the statement said.
