Experts don’t see a sequel to the nineteenth-century Irish Potato Famine just yet, but they do expect the drop in production to lead to a surge in potato prices. The continent’s top potato producers — Germany, France, the Netherlands and Belgium — have all been heavily impacted by the drought, threatening potato crops.
