Khazna covers 28% of its cooling electricity with carbon-free power

The company is aiming for 100% by 2035

G42's data center arm Khazna is using renewable energy for about 28% of its cooling needs, according to the company’s first environmental and government report out this week.

Big plans: Khazna is aiming for 50% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% by 2035. (Those figures refer specifically to the electricity for cooling, not the electricity that powers the servers themselves.)

Why it matters: Khazna controlled more than 70% of the UAE's data center capacity as of last year, Rest of World reported, and it’s leading the buildout of Stargate UAE, the 1 GW AI cluster G42 is developing with OpenAI, Oracle, and Nvidia.
