ADIB taps AI veteran Pedro Uria-Recio to scale AI deployment across the bank

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has named Pedro Uria-Recio (LinkedIn) chief AI officer, tasking him with rolling out AI across customer experience, risk management, and operations as part of its Vision 2035 strategy, the bank said in a statement. He joins from Malaysia’s CIMB Bank, where he served as chief data and AI officer and led the deployment of generative AI, agentic AI, and advanced analytics across Southeast Asia. He also held senior roles at True Corporation, Axiata Group, and McKinsey & Company.
