Egypt-based transport and logistics company Egytrans has appointed Maged Shawky (LinkedIn) as its new chairman, according to a press release (pdf). Shawky previously served as chairman and managing partner at investment fund Catalyst Partners, held executive positions at investment bank Beltone Financial Holdings, and served as the Egyptian Exchange ’s executive chairman. He also held a post as the African Securities Exchanges Association ’s president. In his new role, Shawky will diversify operations, consolidate investments, and expand Egytrans’ regional presence, the statement notes.
