Saudi Arabia inked over 50 MoUs with African countries at the Saudi-African Summit in a wide range of economic fields, including transportation and logistics services, Saudi Press Agency reports. The summit, held on 10 November in Riyadh, KSA, aimed to promote strategic partnerships and economic cooperation between the two countries. The two countries also issued the Riyadh declaration, which encouraged joint investment by diversifying intra-trade and highlighted the importance of exploring avenues of common interest, with an emphasis on transport and logistics, particularly maritime transport, air connectivity, and ports.
Iran and Tajikistan inked 18 agreements to enhance cooperation in several areas, including transportation, according to a statement by the Iranian presidency. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon signed a joint statement, as well as 18 cooperation documents and memorandums of understandings (MoUs) in Dushanbe to enhance long-term bilateral trade and economic cooperation till 2030, Xinhua News Agency reports. The agreements also include establishing joint freezones, as well as inter-city cooperation in several sectors.
Qatar + Peru ink air services agreement: Head of Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority Mohamed Faleh Alhajri and Peruvian Transport and Communications Minister Raul Ricardo Perez Reyes Espejo have signed an air services agreement between the two countries, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reports. The two officials also discussed boosting bilateral ties in air transport.
Qatar + Turkey look to boost freezone cooperation: Qatari State Minister and Chairman of Qatar Freezones Authority (QFZ) Ahmed Al Sayed met with Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek on the sidelines of the Turkish-Arab Economic Forum to discuss enhancing cooperation in freezones, investments, and business between the two countries, according to a statement. Qatar’s Transport Minister Jassim Al Sulaiti also discussed with his Turkish counterpart Abdul Qader Uraloglu boosting cooperation in transportation, ports, and civil aviation.
