The rundown on the Logistics & Transport Awards 2023: DP World, Mawani, Trukker and FedEx Express are among the companies that took home awards for port operations, freight forwarding, and tech solutions at the Logistics & Transport Awards 2023, the sixth iteration of the yearly awards run by Logistics News Middle East, Construction Business News reports. The highlights:
- DP World got three: DP World was awarded the “terminal operator of the year” award in recognition of Jebel Ali port; the “international freight forwarder of the year” award; and the “tech solutions provider in logistics & supply chain” award in recognition of the work of its subsidiary Dubai Trade ;
- Mawani took two: The Saudi Ports Authority received the customer experience excellence award, and the port of the year award in recognition of Jeddah Islamic Port;
- As did global Logistics outfit ALS Logistics Services, which was recognized as logistics innovator of the year and unique solutions provider of the year;
- Dubai’s Transcorp Logistics received the express logistics provider of the year as well as the last mile company of the year awards;
- FedEx was awarded the logistics company of the year award;
- Trucking startup Trukker received the freight operator of the year award;
- Dubai-based 3PL provider Global Logistics Solutions (GLS) received the 3PL company of the year award;
- Dubai Industrial City was recognized as the leading manufacturing and logistics hub, while Dubai South was recognized as global hub of the year.
Dubai-based Dnata became the first combined air services provider to obtain the International Air Transport Association’ (IATA) environmental management certification, according to a statement. The certificate evaluates the dedication of aviation players, including airlines, airports, cargo handling facilities, freight forwarders, and ramp handlers, to continuously strengthen their environmental and sustainability performance. IATA’s assesment included 74 mandatory and all three optional modules which examined Dnata’s sustainability practices and initiatives across its UAE operations. Dnata’s baggage technology and logistics company — Dubz — was also awarded the certification.
Etihad Airways has earned its third consecutive five-star rating Ap ex award: The UAE’s national airline, Etihad Airways, has been rated as a five star global airline by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (Apex) for its third consecutive year at the Apex awards ceremony in California, Emirates news agency(WAM) reports. The award is based on passenger feedback and insights gathered in partnership with travel-organizing app Tripit from Concur, and is awarded independently by a professional external auditing company, WAM writes.
