DP World eyes sou th Indian expansion: Dubai-based port operator DP World is set to invest INR 2.15 bn in the logistics and warehousing sector in India’s Telangana state, Telangana IT and Industries Minister Kalvakuntla Rao said in a stat ement.
The details: The company will deploy INR 1.65 bn in its inland container depot operation in Telangana's capital city Hyderabad, the statement adds. Another INR 500 mn will be used to establish a cold storage warehouse in Medchal with a capacity of 5k pallets.
DP World has been expanding its presence in India: DP World and India’s Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) recently signed a concession agreement valued at USD 510 mn for a new mega container terminal at Kandla . The agreement involves the operation, development, and maintenance of the new terminal through a 30-year public-private partnership (PPP).
