Iran completes upgrades at Shahid Rajaee Port: Iran inaugurated two major projects to boost capacity at its southern Shahid Rajaee Port on Friday, Tehran Times reports. The projects included upgrading roads leading to the port complex and the transit and export terminal at the complex, Tehran Times adds, citing Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization.
The details: The projects are set to add 8k TEUs to the port’s current container storage capacity, bringing its total container and transit storage capacity to 145k TEUs.
The financing: The private sector provided the funding for the finalization of the USD 81.5 mn transit and export terminal, which includes a warehouse and a 128.6k sqm container storage area. It’s not clear who footed the bill for the USD 1.7 mn upgrades to the roads.
