The collapse of US trucking giant Yellow is boosting competitor performance, The Wall Street Journal reports. The company’s recent bankruptcy, which resulted in the layoffs of some 30k workers, helped boost the less-than-truckload sector, which includes firms that carry cargo for multiple customers on the same trailer. Rivals including ABB freight, Old Dominion, and Freight Line have seen stronger operations since mid-July as Yellow customers have sought alternative routes, with experts saying that several truckers are seeing 2-3k shipments each day in recent weeks.
