Italy’sLeonardo to upgrade Kuwait airport’s navigation system: Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has inked a USD 21.4 mn contract with Italian aerospace, defense, and security outfit Leonardo to upgrade Kuwait International Airport’s air navigation system, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reports. The agreement will see the design, manufacture, import, and operation of two new advanced radar systems at Kuwait International Airport. Crew training, maintenance, and technical support are also part of the agreement, KUNA says.

OIL AND GAS-

Egypt + Jordan strengthen natgas cooperation: Egypt and Jordan have signed two agreements to make it easier and cheaper for Egyptian natural gas to reach Jordan, the Egyptian Oil Ministry said in a statement. Under the first pact, the two countries will work to increase the flow of Egyptian gas through the Arab Gas Pipeline — which links Egypt with Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon — to feed industrial zones in Jordan. The second agreement will see Egypt and Jordan reduce operational costs of LNG shipments by jointly using the floating LNG terminal at Jordan’s southern port of Aqaba.

The agreements will enable Jordan to create an attractive environment for investments,create jobs, and upswing their exports to participate and compete in global markets while contributing to the Jordanian economy by relying on Egypts expertise in the field, the statement said.

MARITIME-

Gulf Marine Services has secured two contract extensions in the GCC, according to a press release. The first extension is for the use of a large class vessel until the end of November 2023, while the second contract extends the lease for a small class vessel until the end of March 2024. The offshore vessel provider was also awarded three other contracts this year.
