Dubai’s RTA to develop 10 km transportation infrastructure: Dubai’s Road and Transportation Authority (RTA) has awarded a contract for the development of 32 roads spanning 10 km in the Al Qusais industrial areas 1-5, according to a statement. The statement does not disclose the name of the company awarded the contract, or the contract’s value.

The details: Once completed, the expansion work will reduce journey time by 60% by increasing road intake capacity 200% to reach 1.5k vehicles per hour both ways. The updates should also improve access for its 320 workshops, as well as residential, educational and commercial areas, RTA Director General and Executive Board Chairman Mattar Al Tayer said.

Part of continued efforts from the RTA to improve road systems in the emirate: The RTA also has ongoing projects across several residential areas to improve road accessibility, lighting and rainwater drainage.
