Transworld to set up 50k sqm logistics center in Jafza: Dubai-based shipping and logistics firm Transworld and DP World ‘s Jebel Ali Freezone (Jafza) have inked an agreement to build a 50k sqm dry and temperature-controlled distribution center in Jafza, according to a statement (pdf).
The details: Construction on the warehouse will begin early next year and is set for competition by 2025, the statement notes. Transworld previously inaugurated a cold chain distribution center in Jafza to handle temperature-sensitive goods.
Transworld will see a two-fold capacity boost: The upcoming facility — developed by Jafza — will double Transworld’s capacity in the region and enhance the freezone’s logistics infrastructure, the statement notes.
What they said: “This mega distribution center will be a landmark for Transworld, symbolizing our growth and expansion over the last five decades. It will also complement our foray into the food processing sector,” said Chairman of Transworld Group Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan.
