Yemen kicks off construction on a new dry port in Hodeidah: Yemen’s transport ministry has inaugurated construction of the YER 97 mn first phase of a new 44k square meter dry port for heavy trucks in Hodeidah, according to a Transport Ministry statement. The project looks to rehabilitate Yemen’s trucking sector and contribute to reduced congestion on the country’s roads.

Details: The hub will include parking spaces for trucks and heavy transport vehicles, as well as fuel and maintenance facilities.

Looking ahead: The project’s second phase will see additional facilities of the same type, in addition to land navigation facilities, the statement said.
