RSA Cold Chain rolls out new cold storage facility at Jafza: RSA Cold Chain — a JV of Dubai-based supply chain company RSA Global and Atlanta-based temperature-controlled warehousing outfit Americold — has inked a lease agreement with Dubai-based logistics giant DP World to develop a new cold chain facility at Jebel Ali freezone (Jafza), according to a Dubai Media Office statement.
The details:The new facility will be designed, built, and operated by RSA Cold Chain on a 100k square meter plot in Jafza and will bring 40k new pallet positions to Jebel Ali’s port area. The cold chain hub will provide multi-temperature capabilities as well as both bonded and non-bonded solutions. The facility’s location within Jebel Ali will provide easy access to Jafza’s food and beverage ecosystem, the statement said.
The timeline:Construction is set to begin in early 2024, with fulfillment expected in 1Q 2025.
Plans for expansion: Subsequent developments will see the facility almost double in capacity to hold 70k pallets.
