Iran, Afghanistan eye ways to boost trade to USD 10 bn a year: Iranian Economic Adviser of the Iranian President’s Special Envoy in Afghanistan Mohammad-Mehdi Javanmard-Ghassab and Afghanistan’s Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi discussed ways to boost bilateral trade to USD 10 bn annually, semi-official news agency Mehr reports.. They also discussed improving ties in mining, agriculture, and transit.

The two countries are also exploring increasing flights: Iranian Roads and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash also held talks with Afghan Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Hamidullah Akhundzada to enhance transport ties, state news agency IRNA reports. That includes increasing flights between the countries and boosting aviation export services.
