Agility’s warehouses in Cote d’Ivoire receive EDGE advanced certification as green buildings:Agility Logistics’ park warehouses in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire are the first in West Africa to be granted the green building excellence in design for greater efficiencies (EDGE) advanced certification, according to press release. EDGE, which is overseen by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), is the global standard for energy-efficient buildings.
The reasons for the award: The certification requires a minimum projected reduction of 20% energy use, water use, and “embodied energy” in materials when benchmarked against a standard local building. The Abidjian facility is the second Agility warehouse to receive EDGE Advanced certification, after its logistics park in Riyadh was awarded the certification in 2022.
Saudi Ports Authority’s (Mawani) Jeddah Islamic Port has received the Advanced Port Infrastructure Awardat the Landmarks in Logistics 2023 awards ceremony in the UAE, according to a statement. Jeddah Islamic Port has upgraded its ports by adding modern berths to accommodate a new generation of mega vessels. It has also deployed the Smart Ports Initiative, which automates operations through 5G technology, according to the statement.
Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech) was included in Jordan Airport Freezone’s 2023 Golden List, according to a press release. TAGTech is a manufacturer of electronic devices and has branches in Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon. The corporation met the 2023 Golden List’s membership requirements based on trade activity, its amount of fixed capital, and commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Etihad Cargo bagged two awards at two separate ceremonies: The airline received the Overall Carrier of the Year Middle East award at the Payload Asia Award, according to a statement.
