Two UAE-based firms are introducing AI-powered logistics solutions to the market: UAE-based mobile satellite provider Thuraya, subsidiary of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company, has launched a container software tracking solution in partnership with Norway-based Cypod solutions for a container tracking solution, while Abu Dhabi-based AI firm AIQ has partnered with Bayanat to develop a software application to automate the process of moving drilling rigs.
#1- Thuraya’s Cylock: Thuraya and Cypod’s solution — dubbed Cylock — is an internet of things (IoT) product that can track container locations, help secure containers with automated locking and unlocking mechanisms, and data monitoring for sensitive material like medical equipment, according to a press release.
What they said: “CyLock is a game-changer for the global logistics sector, offering a comprehensive IoT solution that addresses the specific needs of container shipping operations across land, air and rail transport,” CEO of Cypod Solutions Roar Berg said.
#2- AIQ + Bayanat’s drilling rig AI-powered software app:AIQ ’s partnership with Bayanat will see them develop a software application dubbed the Rig Move Optimization AI System, which has already completed a proof of concept, according to a press release. The software is set to use analytics to streamline rig movement operations by using AI-enabled routes and coordinating the movement of rigs, personnel, and equipment across several drilling sites, according to the press release. The software also automates scheduling processes and provides real-time updates on rig availability and maintenance for resource allocation purposes, the statement adds.
