The UK’s export credit agency, UK Export Finance (UKEF) , is in talks to finance a third railway project in Turkey, Al Monitor reported. The agency handed out in March a EUR 2.1 bn loan for a high speed railway connecting Ankara with the coastal city of Izmir, and later underwrote EUR 781 mn in financing for a 286 km high speed railway in southern Turkey. Talks on a third railway project are reportedly ongoing as the UK negotiates a rebooted trade agreement with Turkey, the country’s second-largest trade partner, Al Monitor said.
