Tetraturk snags contract for UAE-Oman railway infrastructure design: Turkish engineering and architecture company Tetraturk has secured an infrastructure design contract for the Abu Dhabi-Sohar segment of the UAE-Oman Railway Network, Trade Arabia reports.

The details: As part of the contract, Tetraturk will design road projects, trackworks, road and railway line drainage works, hydrology and flow assessment report, scour analysis on bridges and culverts and tender documents, according to the statement. The Oman-Etihad Rail JV — established by Oman Rail and Etihad Rail — will manage the project, including its financials and schedules.

About the rail network: The UAE-Oman Railway Network is a USD 3 bn, 303 km railway for high-speed trains connecting Abu Dhabi and Sohar in the north of Muscat. The transport link between the UAE and Oman — first announced i n September — is aimed at boosting trade between the two countries and the region. The rail line serves both passenger and freight trains.
