Turkey and Iran have set an annual trade exchange target of EUR 30 b n, following a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, Iran’s state-aligned Tasnim news agency reports. The two officials discussed putting in measures to achieve this goal, including by updating the two countries’ preferential trade document and leveraging transit routes in the region between Iran and Turkey, the news agency writes. Trade exchanges for the countries in the first seven months of 2023 fell 21% y-o-y to USD 3.25 bn, Tasnim reports, citing data from the Turkish Statistical Institute.

Qatar eyes s tronger transport cooperation with Saudi Arabia + IMO: Qatar’s Transport Minister Jassim Al Sulaiti met with Saudi Arabia’s Transport and Logistics Services Minister Saleh Al Jasser during the Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference (SMIC) to discuss boosting transportation ties, according to a statement. Al Sulaiti also engaged in discussions with Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Kitack Lim during the conference to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Qatar and the IMO in the marine transportation industry.
