Indian bunkering firm Shiny Shipping is expanding bunkering services in Oman, as per an agreement signed with Oman’s Global Specialized Resources, Ship & Bunker reports, citing company representatives. In addition to the 0.1% sulfur marine gas oil (MGO) that Shiny Shipping has on hand, the firm is also looking to roll out very low sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO) and high sulfur fuel oil (HSFO) services.

Shiny Sipping’s operations in Oman will cover Sultan Qaboos, Shinas, Suwaiq, and Sohar ports, Ship & Bunker said. The company has eight 1k to 4k deadweight tonnage (dwt) barges on station in the Indian Ocean and Arabian Gulf and is now planning to operate its own “dedicated bunkering barges for MGO and VLSFO delivery at port berths and within anchorage areas,” the company said.

The company has already kicked off bunkering operations in Oman, completing several fueling services to navy and cruise ships, Shiny Shipping told Ship & Bunker. A recent order saw the company supply MGO to a container vessel anchored at Sohar.
