Qatar Airways’ ground handling subsidiary achieves environmental management certificate from IATA + AD Ports snags Harvard Business Council International awards

Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) becomes world’s first environmentally certified ground + cargo handler: Qatar Airways’ ground handling subsidiary Qatar Aviation Services received the International Air Transport Association (IATA) environmental management system certification, highlighting its commitment to environmental sustainability, according to a press release. QAS’ certification covers its “offices and workshop buildings, ground handling operations and equipment, cargo handling operations and equipment, and maintenance activities.”

About the award: The award comes as part of the IATA Environmental Assessment program, which assesses and sets out to improve environmental management of operations, including reporting and mitigating environmental impacts.

AD Ports snags multiple awards at Harvard Business Council International Awards: AD Ports received seven awards, including four diamond and three gold, during the Harvard Business Council International Awards in Abu Dhabi, making it the top awardee for the second consecutive year, according to a company statement. The organization’s maritime cluster achieved diamond level in the organizational excellence award.
