UAE + Turkey ratify CEPA: The Emirati and Turkish governments have ratified the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries, UAE Foreign Trade Minister Thani Al Zeyoudi announced in a statement. The agreement is expected to bring bilateral non-oil trade to USD 40 bn over the next five years, the statement said. The two countries previously signed the agreement in March 2023 following negotiations to boost bilateral trade, and at the time agreed to focus on the fields of agritech, construction, ICT, telecoms, logistics and pharma, according to The National. The agreement is set to come into effect from the middle of the year, The National writes.

Iraq + Iranagree on mechanisms to ease trade: Iraq and Iran held talks to discuss measures to enhance trade ties, including establishing a joint company to enable seal road transport of Iranian products to the Iraqi market without changing trucks at the border, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reports.Iran also agreed to relax its restrictions on Iraqi oil transported through Iran's Bandar Abbas port, while senior officials from Iraqi Kurdistan also announced plans to open a new border crossing to Iran's city of Oshnavieh, with the aim of further enhancing bilateral trade.
