Washington has announced a fresh set of sanctions against Russia, including measures that target its military trade links with Iran, according to a White House statement. The latest sanctions take aim at Russia’s war efforts, energy sector, and access to international finances. The measures also aim to close loopholes around sanctions and bolster efforts to limit Russia’s access to sovereign assets abroad. The new sanctions also target Iran-Russia logistical networks and Iranian shipping firms involved in military-related transfers to Russia, according to the White House statement.
