MSC inks MoU for design of 8200 TEU ammonia dual-fuel containership: Lloyd’s Register (LR), Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI), MAN Energy Solutions (MAN-ES) and MSC have inked an MOU to design an ammonia dual-fuel containership for MSC, Marine Insight reports. Technical specification and design documents will be drafted for an ammonia-powered variant of SDARI's 8.2k TEU container ship. LR will verify safety standards, SDARI will provide the design documentation, and MAN-ES will contribute engine design and ammonia fuel supply data.
