UAE-based Khazna Data Centerswill expand into Egypt with the establishment of a USD 250 mn data center in Cairo in partnership with Egyptian IT infrastructure firm Benya Group, according to a press release. Khazna and Benya signed a term sheet agreement to establish the center as well as an MoU with the government’s Maadi Technology Park, where the project will be built. Details about funding sources for the project were not disclosed.
The project: The project has an expected initial capacity of 25 MW of IT load, with plans to double its capacity at a later date, Benya said in a statement shared with Enterprise AM, without providing more details. The companies plan to start construction later this year and complete the project in the next three years.

GWC creates energy subsidiary to focus on energy projects: Qatari logistics and supply chain firm GWC Group has created a new subsidiary, GWC Energy, to provide integrated shipping, logistics, and marine services to its customers in the energy sector, according to a press release. The subsidiary will handle onshore and offshore operations — among other solutions — for clients. “GWC Energy will provide expert logistics solutions for the entire energy cycle,” GWC CEO Ranjeev Menon said.
