Amazon opened a new fulfillment center in Dubai, upping its storage capacity by 70%, the company said in a press release. The fulfillment center, located in Dubai South’s Logistics District, has 2.1 mn cubic feet of storage. The facility — which is the company's second fulfillment center in the district — has uninterrupted access to Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport.

A boon for SMEs: Given the additional capacity, SMEs and entrepreneurs will be given access to Amazon's logistical capabilities and fulfillment services, which allows them to store, pack, and ship client orders via Amazon, in order to reach a wider consumer base. Amazon recently announced plans to host items from 100k businesses, including local SMBs by 2026, on its UAE website.
