Suez Canal Authority sets up a JV to provide waste collection service for ships:The Suez Canal Authority inked an agreement with Antipollution’s parent company, Greek-based V Group, and Egyptian-Greek businessman Eric Adams to establish Antipollution Egypt, a joint-stock company providing ships transiting the Suez Canal a solid and liquid waste collection service, according to a Suez Canal Authority statement. The statement did not break down the exact ownership structure of the JV.
Air Products Qudra to build + operate Neom’s first hydrogen fueling station: AirProducts Qudra, a JV between KSA’s Air Products in the Middle East and Vision Invest subsidiary Qudra, signed an agreement to build Neom’s first hydrogen fueling station with ENOWA, NEOM’s energy, water and hydrogen subsidiary, according to a company statement. The station comes as part of Neom’s plans to create a decarbonized transportation network, and will serve buses, large trucks as well as other heavy modes of transportation in Neom. Construction of the station is scheduled to kick off in 2H 2023.
AMPTC orders two gas carriers from Hyundai:The Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport Company (AMPTC) has closed an order for the construction of two very large gas carriers (VLGCs) with South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries, according to a regulatory filing by the latter (pdf). The order will set AMPTC back USD 206 mn and will complement the company’s existing fleet of 11 vessels. AMPTC routinely charters out its vessels to major oil players in the region, including Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and ExxonMobil.
Suez Canal Economic Zone CEO Walid Gamal El Din met with a high-level delegation of members of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerceto discuss bilateral cooperation yesterday, according to a cabinet statement. The meeting saw the SCZone head give a presentation on the SCzone, highlighting its strategic location near European markets, infrastructure, the investment incentives it offers and the economic sectors it is targeting in a bid to drum up more international investments.
