Norway to launch 1.5 GW wind farm: Norway has launched its first auction for the rights to build a commercial offshore wind farm with up to 1.5 GW of capacity, Reuters writes. The prequalified contenders include major players like Equinor, RWE, Statkraft, Aker Offshore Wind, BP, Ventyr, Shell, and local Norwegian firms.
Adani remains committed to green growth: India’s Adani Group reportedly plans to funnel 70% of its total investments into green energy with an earmarked investment of USD 14 bn pegged for the coming year, ANI reports. The conglomerate — which is already investing heavily in green energy — is currently working on the largest renewable energy park in the world and plans to use the investments, adding up to USD 100 bn over the next decade, to expand its work at airports and ports, its green hydrogen ecosystem, and green energy-powered data centers, according to a press release.
The news came ahead of a bribery scandal: Adani Group’s stocks fell yesterday after news that the US is investigating allegations that affiliates bribed Indian officials to gain favor on an energy project, Bloomberg reports. The conglomerate has denied the allegations.
