GCC AI adoption surges on paper, but scaling is the hard part

Only 4% of surveyed GCC organizations are using AI companywide.

GCC organizations are getting stuck in the AI pilot stage, according to that Cooper Fitch survey cited above.

Nearly two-thirds of GCC organizations now report “functional” AI adoption, up from 19% a year ago, the survey found. That means they’re using AI for specific tasks, but not as a core part of company business, Cooper Fitch CEO Trefor Murphy (LinkedIn) tells EnterpriseAM UAE.

But just 4% of regional orgs are using the tool companywide, the survey found, compared with 34% at multinational firms benchmarked in the same survey.

Lagging on governance: 81% of all surveyed GCC organizations describe their AI governance as absent, informal, or evolving in the survey, with 27% operating under no governance framework at all.
