President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan appointed Dr Tareq Ahmed Mohame<\/strong>d Al Ameri<\/strong> as chairman<\/strong> of the UAE Aid Agency<\/strong>, Wam<\/a> reports. Al Ameri is currently director of the Presidential Court\u2019s Development Affairs Office, and previously served as executive director at Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and in senior roles at the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Interior Ministry.<\/p>\n

The President also tapped Mohamed Saeed Al Shamsi <\/strong>as vice chairman<\/strong>. Al Shamsi has over three decades of experience in foreign aid and humanitarian programs, previously serving as assistant foreign affairs minister for development and international organizations, and executive director of the UAE Office for the Coordination of Foreign Aid, with his contributions including helping establish the International Cooperation and Development Ministry and drafting the UAE\u2019s first foreign aid policy and strategy.<\/p>\n

REFRESHER- <\/strong>The UAE established a UAE Aid Agency earlier in November<\/a>. The entity is designed to support the country's global humanitarian and development assistance efforts and will operate under the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.<\/p>\n

Takaful Emara<\/strong>t appointed Adnan Sabaalaish<\/strong> (LinkedIn<\/a>) as acting CEO <\/strong>of the company, according to a bourse disclosure (pdf)<\/a>. Sabaalaish will assume responsibility for the management of the company effective immediately and until further notice.
