More from Masdar in Uzbekistan: <\/strong>UAE renewables giant Masdar and Uzbekistan's Energy Ministry signed an agreement to develop a 1 GW wind farm in Mingbulak during COP29, according to a press release<\/a>. The wind farm is expected to create 1k construction jobs and provide clean energy to 300k homes. The project marks the first phase of a broader plan \u2014 agreed in May last year \u2014 to build 2 GW of wind capacity<\/a> across Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

Masdar has been heavily investing in Asian green energy projects<\/strong>, signing an agreement with Malaysia<\/a> to proceed with the development of 10 GW worth of clean energy projects late last year. The company is also developing 1 GW worth of solar and wind projects in Azerbaijan<\/a>, and developing projects in Indonesia<\/a>, including a plan to triple the size of its Cirata 145 MW floating solar plant and to explore green hydrogen projects. It also signed an agreement with Kyrgyzstan\u2019s Ministry of Energy to establish 3.6 GW of hydropower<\/a> and renewable energy projects.<\/p>\n

Masdar also yesterday signed an investment agreement with Kazakhstan's government to develop a <\/strong>1 GW wind farm<\/a><\/strong> in the Central-Asian country, set to be one of the biggest of its kind in Central Asia.<\/p>\n
