Once complete, this will make DEC the largest indoor events and exhibitions venue in the region, 1.5x larger than the current Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The big picture:<\/strong> The expansion aims to cement Dubai\u2019s position as a global hub for mega events, boosting economic growth and tourism under the emirate\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/dubai2040.ae\/en\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">2040 Urban Master Plan<\/a>.
